If she didn't already know it well, Kreuk is currently spending a lot of time getting to know Toronto: it's the home of the CW drama "Beauty and the Beast," in which 30-year-old Kreuk plays leading lady Catherine Chandler. After spending most of her career portraying Lana Lang, Clark Kent's love interest on "Smallville" from 2001 to 2011, Kreuk guest starred in four episodes of NBC's "Chuck" in 2010. She also appeared in the 2010 made-for-TV movie "Ben-Hur," the historical epic of Jewish prince Judah Ben-Hur.

Australia's ibtimes reporting Kristin Kreuk as one of the latest popular fan casting suggestions for the role of Anastasia Steele in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film adaptation alongside Ian Somerhalder.

"Casting speculation for "Fifty Shades of Grey" continues. For one, fans are having a hell of a great time naming countless Hollywood stars set to play the lead roles. As of late, leading the polls is "Vampire Diaries" star, Ian Somerhalder, as Christian Grey plus a new face set to star opposite him as Anastasia Steele...If Ian had been cast as Christian Grey, who among Hollywood's hottest could have been cast as his Anastasia Steele?...the latest is Kristin Kreuk. The "Beauty & the Beast" television star is definitely a household name all thanks to her TV series. The brunette beauty is now eyed for the role of Anastasia Steele opposite Ian Somerhalder.
A fan video of the said pairing starring in a video for "Fifty Shades of Grey" has already made its' rounds on the web. For one, the chemistry is quite believable making anyone believe Ian and Kristin could just pull it off. Still, official casting for the film lies in the hands of Universal Studios and Focus Features. All fans can do for now is imagine all the possibilities.
