VS. System ("Versus System") is a collectable card game published in 2004 by Upper Deck Entertainment in collaboration with both DC and Marvel comics. The game or 'system' comes with established set of rules and requires two or more players often playing in tournament-style competitions. Basically, the card game involves players building and playing a deck of 'Vs. System' cards with the object of wearing down their opponents to 0 or less endurance. Much of the card artwork, characters, and game play concepts were inspired by their comic book appearances. Therefore, a characters' "card mechanics" were based on their various comic book representations. Many well known comic artists contributed their talents in the creation and design of these collectable cards. Upper Deck stopped producing these DC and Marvel "Vs. System" card sets in 2009. Lana Lang appears in two 'Vs. System' cards.
